Aerial Application
FireIce® HVO-F allows air attack officers and pilots to determine tactics best suited for the mission in real time. Direct attack application on the head or the flank can immediately cool and prevent spreading, and is much more effective with greater durability and adhesion compared to long-term retardant. Parallel and indirect application can be used to build line, protect structures, and reinforce natural fire breaks.
Not all gels are the same, and not all gels can be used for line building. With FireIce® HVO-F’s high-visibility colorant, combined with the lasting power of FireIce® polymer, it is possible to have line effectiveness of 2 hours up to 12 hours. Additionally, the colorant package is designed to be timed to the effectiveness of the product – when it is no longer visible from the air, it is safe to assume the product is no longer valid. FireIce® HVO-F is proven to be visible in all fuel types, from desert fine fuels to heavy timber.
Engine Application
FireIce® HVO-F can be utilized in engine operations where operators must have a visual indicator of where product is applied. It has the same impressive properties as FireIce® 561. FireIce 561 knocks down fire with no re-ignition, adhering to burning material, suffocating fire and breaking the fire triangle on two sides. FireIce 561 has also been shown to withstand heat up to 5,000° F as a retardant, giving it durability that no other fire chemical can provide. FireIce® HVO-F is a force multiplier, allowing engines to stretch a limited water supply for a much longer period of time.
Eco-Friendly
FireIce® HVO-F is environmentally friendly, and is safe to use around sensitive aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. The polymer ingredient and performance additives break down naturally in the environment over time and with UV exposure.
Less Corrosive than Competitor Products
FireIce® HVO-F is safe for use with all pumps and firefighting equipment. When batch mixed, the product is safe to leave in tanks and will not fall out of suspension.
Fast Clean up
FireIce® HVO-F is easy to clean up with plain water, and does not require any specialized chemicals or equipment. Though the colorant package is fugitive and can generally be washed off, some staining is possible in particularly porous material.
Application Methods & Packaging
FireIce® HVO-F is available in bulk buckets and in mini sacks for high-volume applications, and is packaged as a dry mixed, one-part product.
