Inlet size 1.5” or 2.5” 38mm or 65mm female US National Hose (NH) thread (swivel coupling)– outlet size 1.5” or 2.5” 38mm or 65mm US NH Male (fixed coupling)

FireIce® 1.5” eductors operate best at pressures over 100 psi (7 bar); for maximum effectiveness they should operate with no nozzle restriction or a nozzle with a GPM higher than that of the installed internal eductor cone. FireIce® 1.5” eductors can retain powder concentrate between 50 psi (3.5 bar) and 200 psi (14 bar) – less pressure is required at higher flow rates.

FireIce® 2.5” eductors operate best at 200 psi (1400 kPa) (14 bar) with the red internal cone installed – nozzle flow must exceed cone size – a throttled nozzle or closed bail will shut down the ability to entrain powder concentrate.

FireIce® 2.5” eductors with high-volume (mixing) cones operate best with a flow rate of 350 – 425 GPM and pressure above 30 psi, depending on internal cone size. For maximum performance , a discharge hose with an I.D. equal or greater than the outlet fitting on the eductor should be utilized without restriction – higher pressures can lower the need for minimum flow rate.

Note: Customer is required to check the performance of the eductor installed on the intended equipment before fire service use. If the unit is functioning properly, strong suction can be felt when:

  • A finger or thumb is placed over the pickup tube with the concentrate ball valve open.
  • The proper pressure and flow rate are being pumped and discharged via a properly oriented eductor.
  • Connected to the discharge pump end and operated without restriction through a minimum 4′ length of non-collapsible hose attached to the discharge side of the eductor.

For more information on gallons per minute (gpm) and eductor cone size correlation, see the reference documents section: FireIce Eductor Cone Diagram.
