FireIce is a powder that, when mixed with water, creates a homogeneous water-enhancing gel for both direct fire suppression and exposure or structure protection. FireIce acts like a sponge, absorbing over 400 times its weight in water and is compatible with any type of water moving equipment.
During times of crisis, fire departments cannot offer immediate protection. FireIce was designed to act as an insurance policy for biomass companies to protect valuable assets during initial stages of a fire until fire personnel can arrive.
Prevent Reignition
FireIce is the only agent that provides effective reignition prevention. FireIce is ideal for coating, capping, cooling, and penetrating woody biomass and feedstock piles as an additional line of defense.
Safe for Feedstock
FireIce is safe to use on animal feed, near livestock, and will not harm the quality of biomass product when sprayed with FireIce gel.

FireIce has 5 times the knockdown power compared to water, reducing collateral damage and manpower needed to contain and control a fire. FireIce is also very effective for smoke mitigation.
Deep-seated fires prove to be extremely difficult to extinguish. Most fire suppression agents are unable to properly reach the deep embers that fires thrive on. FireIce gel coats the fire and prevents reignition, effectively containing the fire top-side while the free water also present in the gel penetrates the hard to reach areas, extinguishing the intense embers below.
For years, the landfill in Nassau, Bahamas had been plagued with deep-seated scorching fires that would put residents of the area in danger and at risk of toxic smoke inhalation. In March of 2017, GelTech arrived on-scene, dropping loads of FireIce from Single Engine Air Tankers in hard to reach areas to assist ground efforts in containing the massive blaze. Within weeks, the massive fire had been contained and residents could return to their homes peacefully without toxicity in the air.

FireIce Pro is the only fire chemical available that can be used as both a suppressant and a retardant. It knocks down fire with no reignition by adhering to burning material and suffocating the fire, and it is proven to withstand temperatures of up to 5,000° F. FireIce Pro breaks the fire triangle on two sides by suffocation and heat removal. Heat transfer within structures and to other material is dissipated and prevented with FireIce Pro.

FireIce extinguishers use FireIce XT, a specially formulated, water-based agent that is a safe, effective and eco-friendly alternative to traditional ABC dry chemical agents, and does not carry the risk of inhalation, damage to skin or eyes, or harmful residues. FireIce XT greatly enhances the capability of traditional extinguishers by acting as a force multiplier. When added to water, FireIce XT produces a water enhancing gel that breaks the fire triangle by cutting off the oxygen and cooling the heat source. This prevents rekindling, which reduces property damage and increases user safety.

The MIST system deploys eco-friendly FireIce XT gel to immediately suppress heavy machinery engine compartment fires while coating and protecting surrounding assets from ignition and radiant heat. FireIce XT is eco-friendly, non-toxic to the environment, and less corrosive than competitor products.
