Con Edison & GelTech Wrap 'FireIce' Testing

GelTech Solutions, Inc. (OTCQB: GLTC) creators of FireIce, a water-enhancing fire suppressant, successfully completed field tests with Con Edison (NYSE: ED). "Con Edison's field testing under live conditions demonstrated that FireIce's fire suppression qualities reduces risks to utility workers and equipment, as well as New Yorkers," said Michael Cordani, GelTech chief executive officer. "The performance of our product reinforces the results achieved during Con Edison's earlier testing under controlled, laboratory conditions."

FireIce is an additive to fire suppression systems. It also has been used by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to fight wildfires. GelTech Solutions' work with Con Edison is the first with an electric utility. Con Edison engineers and technicians found FireIce puts out underground fires more quickly than other systems. Along with the successful field results, the Florida based GelTech also announced the opening of a regional support facility in Brooklyn, New York.
