GelTech Solutions Announces Addition to Soil2O Dust Control Product Line

FireIce used in Minnesota Airtankers for Aerial Wildfire Pilot Program

JUPITER, FL--(Marketwired - August 5, 2014) - GelTech Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB: GLTC) (OTCQB: GLTC),

Announced today that FireIce was successfully deployed by firefighting aircraft contracted by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, and was able to aid in containing one of the first wildfires of the season. Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has purchased and is using FireIce in a season-long pilot program to evaluate the product in aerial firefighting and fire engine applications.

In its first wildfire deployment this season, FireIce earned the praise of pilots and wildland firefighters on the ground as being effective and easy to use. FireIce is non-toxic and its environmental impact is negligible compared to other fire chemicals used in wildland firefighting, particularly in sensitive ecosystems. FireIce is also non-corrosive and weighs significantly less than other commonly used chemicals, enhancing the safety of pilots and their aircraft.

“We are pleased to be working with Minnesota DNR during this fire season, and our team was ready to help support the agency leading up to and during the first fire,” stated Matt Struzziero, GelTech’s Director of Sales and Strategic Operations. “Agency feedback has been very positive and other agencies across the country have taken notice. We understand the challenges that agencies face in working with new products and vendors in wildland firefighting, and the entire GelTech organization is dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive first class support every step of the way.”

This latest success comes at a time when the FireIce Wildland Division continues to gain momentum in 2014, which is already the most successful year for wildland firefighting in company history. Multiple state and federal agencies across the U.S. and Canada are evaluating FireIce as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to existing fire chemicals used in wildland firefighting. Additional pilot programs and evaluations will be coming online over the summer.

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is responsible for forest fire protection on all state and private forest. Minnesota is also a member of the Great Lakes Forest Fire Compact, and provides mutual assistance and resource sharing to member agencies including: Michigan; Wisconsin; Ontario; and Manitoba. The compact also works with Federal agencies when appropriate, including: US Forest Service; US National Park Service; and US Fish & Wildlife Service.
